October 2016 – DIY Householders

I can't believe that we have already been married a year! Time flies when you are having fun remodeling a home and raising sweet little girls. As I was thinking about what I thought our first printable post should be I couldn't help but think back to our wedding invitation! I absolutely LOVED how they turned out! They were the perfect balance of shabby chic and rustic with our wedding logo thrown in the mix. When I mailed them out I tied them together with jute to help bring out the rustic flare. The wedding invitation, guest information and RSVP card all flowed with the same design. I printed them on a Samsung printer using a cream colored card stock. I received so many compliments on them, even to this day that I have decided to sell the JPEG in my Etsy Store. So traditionally on your first wedding anniversary the gift giving guide states that it is the year of paper. However, my husband Josh and I do not always follow the traditional standards. For our first wedding anniversary we are giving each other a chance to follow our dreams and to CHOOSE happiness! One of my favorite things about my husband is his amazing ability to take my creative designs and dreams that I have conjured in my brain and make them a reality. We are starting this blog, DIY Householders, as a way to capture how we turn messes into masterpieces.
